The paediatric ward is a newly designed ward which caters for both the need and comfort of the child and the convenience of parents. It offers excellent care from new borns through to children up to 13 years of age.
The ambience of the ward has been planned so as to reflect an informal and relaxed atmosphere akin to a home/children’s environment while making sure that it meets all clinical requirements and needs.
The ward has a capacity to accommodate up to 8 patients. It has sufficient modern equipment and facilities to treat up to 6 new borns at a time.
This is the maternity ward, located on the first floor. It is equipped with 5 first stage rooms, 2 labour rooms, nursery, milk preparation room, breast feeding room, treatment room and other facilities required for the efficient functioning of a maternity ward.
We have 2 resident Obstetrician and Gynaecologists to take care of any obstetric eventualities.
The intensive care unit (ICU) is a special ward that provides intensive care medicine. It cater to patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries, which require constant, close monitoring and support from specialist equipment and medications in order to ensure normal bodily functions.
The ICU ward is equipped with advanced medical resources and facilities that are not routinely available in other ordinary wards. It is staffed by specialist doctors and highly trained nurses with post basic training in caring for critically ill patients.
In Perak Community, we have 2 ICU beds and 1 CCU bed in this ward. We have sufficient staff who had post basic training to cater to the needs of patients in ICU.
